17th Foot, Royal Leicestershire Regiment. A very good example of the 19mm officer’s gilt button of the pattern worn between 1855 and 1881. The backmark is FIRMIN & SONS, STRAND LONDON & 13 CONDUIT ST. and the button retains a good amount of the original gilt finish. mar9/3
