1st Punjab Regiment, post 1922. An extremely fine example of the gilt and silver officer’s badge, 40 x 30mm, worn by the regiment from 1922. The badge comprises a handsome, crowned gilt dragon above an applied silver scroll with the title 1ST. PUNJAB REGIMENT with a smaller silver scroll CHINA above, being the battle honour from which the badge was derived. The badge retains both its fixing lugs and is stamped with the maker’s mark J. R. GAUNT LONDON At the start of World War II the Colonel of the Regiment was the KIng Emperor, George VI.    aug14/5
