This excellent example of the officer’s 25mm gilt button is the pattern in use from1855 to 1881 when the 21st became the 1st & 2nd Bns. The Royal scots Fusiliers. It has the backmark JENNENS & Co. LONDON. A variation from the scalloped edged button shown in Ripley, an example of which appears elsewhere in this section.The button retains virtually full gilt. oct1/10 SOLD 1st April 2023
