A vintage albumen print photograph showing a group portrait of the drummers and buglers with their instruments at Dinapore in Bengal, dated and inscribed 1864. The 27th Foot became the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers after 1881. It is tipped to an old paper sheet of paper and identified and dated in ink in a contemporary hand. The drum major stands to the left of the group who wear blue uniform and stand behind the drums. The photograph is sepia toned and measures 7¼ x 5¼ ins [183 x 130mm].           may12/3
