6th Royal Warwickshire Regiment, a group of officers at Gosport, 1863
The small group photograph is of the size used on cartes de visite, 3¾ x 2¼. It is mounted on an old piece of album card dated Gosport 1863 and signed in ink on the photograph A Austin. The 11 uniformed officers wear double breasted tunics or frock coats. The location of Gosport might suggest the regiment is about to embark for service overseas and indeed the regiment was to spend part of the 1860s in India. may14/4
