85th Foot ( Bucks. Volunteers ), officer’s gilt 25mm

£33.00

85th Foot, Bucks Volunteers. A good example of an officer’s 25mm gilt button with the regimental number within a circle reading KINGS LIGHT INFANTRY  all within a crowned star. The button, with the backmark WILLIAM JONES & Co. 236 REGENT St. LONDON, is the pattern worn from 1855 to 1881 when the regiment became the 2nd Bn. The King’s Shropshire Light Infantry.  The gilt is rather dull but the button would probably clean well.  mar9/5
