88th Regt of Foot, the Connaught Rangers, brass 25mm
POA
An example of the 88th’s button with the backmark P TAIT, LIMERICK. Although the brass part of the button is in decent condition the steel back with the maker’s mark is worn but intact with the patent type of recessed shank is fine. This is the pattern worn from 1855 to 1881 when the regiment became the 1st Battalion The Connaught Rangers. the Irish button is one if the harder ones to find. aug25/8 SOLD 6th November 2022
