An example the 25mm brass button of the 8th (King’s) Regiment as worn by other ranks. The button, which has the Irish backmark  P. TAIT & Co. LIMERICK is the pattern worn from 1855 to 1881 when its title became 1st & 2nd Bn The King;s Regiment. In this example the white horse of Hanover appears within the garter facing right. There are also examples where the horse faces left.   may12/2
