51  illustrations from photographs, xiii.98pp. Original decorative printed thick grey boards with cloth spine gilt, a little browned at edges but generally a very clean copy, a later presentation inscription to the ffep remarking that the writer lived in Chestnut Hill. Boston. The work was printed by the Merrymount Press of Boston (USA) on hand made paper. The 12 chapters are: S.S. Olympic, France, S.S. Kaisar-i-Hind, Our wanderings in British India,  Social, Political, and Industrial India, “Unrest” in India, Ceylon, Paquebot Porthos, China, Japan, Hawaii, Unrest. A popular time to visit India coinciding with the royal visit by the Prince of Wales. Although in general the writer does not mention this he does note that he is in Bombay at the same time as H.,M.S. Renown, the crack British battleship on which the Prince of Wales is sailing the seas.  jan27/4
