A good cdv of a Rifles officer in a frock coat, probably early 1870s

A carte de visite by Stringfellow, Vicar Lane, Chesterfield showing an officer weaing a frock coat, probably a volunteer. His sword clearly shows the trung bugle of a rifle or light infantry regiment but I believe they were also used by some volunteer units. The photographer appears ot have moved to Sheffield in the late 1860s so the cdv may well date from before that. aug3/7
