A good cdv of a Rifles officer in a frock coat, probably early 1870s
POA
A carte de visite by Stringfellow, Vicar Lane, Chesterfield showing an officer wearing a frock coat, probably a volunteer. His sword clearly shows the strung bugle of a rifle or light infantry regiment but I believe they were also used by some volunteer units. The photographer appears to have moved to Sheffield in the late 1860s so the cdv may well date from before that. aug3/7 SOLD 9th February 2023
