A good carte de visite by C. R. LENTHALL, Wray Park Studio, Reigate showing an unidentified staff officer wearing medals for the South African campaign 1877-79 and Egypt 1882-9 with the Khedive’s Star. The three quarter length portrait shows him standing beside hsi plumed tropical service dress helmet. under a strong lens the small portion of ribbon of the first medal visible shows it to be the distinctive pattern of the medal awarded for sservice in the Zulu Wars.  feb14/1   SOLD 14th February 2023
