A Scottish officer, circa late 1860s, photographed in Glasgow

The carte de visite by White, 98 West George St. Glasgow shows the officer full length in dress uniform with tartan trousers with his shako on a table beside him. Unfortunately the number on the plate is not clear but the shape of the badge is that worn on the quilted shako before 1870. His sword appears to be the distinct rifles pattern worn by the 26th Cameronian Regiment rather than the more usual basket hilted sword of most Scottish regiments.  may20/6    SOLD 21st May 2022
