A small desk seal cut from a single piece of variegated agate, the overall height 50mm and the matrix 15 mm square. The intaglio armorial crest is an arm in armour, embowed and holding a fouled anchor, sufggesting a strong naval connection. There are a few small chips to the chafered edges of the matrix and a small crack to the edge on the left of the elbow as viewed. feb6/3
