A soldier, identified on the lower margin of the late 19th century carte de visite as C. SHEREWOODThe seated soldier is shown three quarter length wearing a tunic with white facings, a glengarry, a collar badge of a horse, and the sholder title KINGS for the King’s Regiment, Liverpool. The cdv is by BALDWIN, INDIA. Although we have seen many soldiers photographed with their dogs we have no recollection of seeing one with a cat on his knee before.     apr26/3    SOLD 15th November 2022
