A young British boy with a yacht, India 1860s-70s

POA

A very good and attractive carte de visite portrait  by J. CRADDOCK INDIA showing a young British boy in a sailor suit seated near his model yacht. It came from an archive including several photograph albums belonging to General Sir Peter Lumsden [see elsewhere on the website for his details] which included very few children. Sir Peter had no children and one of the few others in the album was Frederick Roberts [son of Lord Roberts of Kandahar]. It is probably the son of one of his colleagues in India. James Craddock was active in Simla and Ambala from about 1864. aug20/1 SOLD 18th March 2023
