Folding map [Nowgong and adjoining districts of Assam Shewing the Route traversed over the Andahmeh Naga Hills….], folding plan of Hill Fort, Konomah, 8 monochrome plates, x, 268pp [i publisher’s for the auhor’s other book]. A very good looking copy in contemporary full leather gilt, very neatly re-cased, retaining original marbled endpapers matching the marbling on all edges, internally very clean, retaining tissue guards to plates, the front pastedown shows the shadow of a removed bookplate, no other previous markings. The work covers areas which were still little known outside the N E Frontier and at an interesting time just before the upheavals of the Indian Mutiny.        mar8/3
