3 folding maps, xiv.281pp. Contemporary half grained blue morocco gilt, blue endpapers, spine a little age darkened, minor rubbing on a few high points of binding, but very bright and clean copy throughout, top edges gilt. This specially bound version is the author’s personal copy with his bookplate to the front pastedown and a free blank page has his signature and is marked personal copy together with a manuscript list of recipients of copies (including Geoffrey Fisher, Archbishop of Canterbury )This page also has a very clear photograph of the drafting committee working at a table on the verandah of Bishop’s House Calcutta ( showing Bishop E H M Waller of Madras, Bishop E J Palmer of Bombay and Bishop F J Western of Tinnevelly: the author was taking the photograph). A few loose insertions including additional copies of the Archbishop of Canterbury’s preface. Probably the best copy one could have of this work on the Anglican Church in India.  jan20/2
