Portrait frontispiece, 23 plates, folding map of Chareekah, 3 folding sketch maps at end of book [Tirah, Saman Range, Saran Sar] all correct as called for in contents list, xvi, 238pp. Original red cloth gilt with arms of Shrewsbury and Uppingham Schools to front board in gilt, spine and small areas of top of boards somewhat faded but a very clean and complete complete copy. Some spots of foxing to some text pages. A With the Author’s Compliments slip is tipped in before the dedication page with added in pencil Major A C Yate, Woodhall Place, Bath. The illustrations from photographs are particularly good for this period.
