An important work with chapters on Sandeman’s missions to Khelat (1876-77), occupation of Quetta (1877), 2nd Afghan War, Tribal Disturbances, settlement of Marris, Bugtis, and Kakars (1882-84), author’s transfer to Derajat & Waziri affairs 1887-89, opening of Gomal Pass, Khidderzi Expedition, Kabul Intriques & the Durand Boundary (1892-95), opening of the Tochi (1895-96).
