An ex-library copy with cancellation from University of London with armorial bookplate, a scattering of very discreet small stamps [non none to the front of the title page]. Quite a scarce title. The book is an account of the author’s journey in the winter of 1897 along the Trancaspian Military Railway: his route being Constantinople, Batoum, Baku, the Caspian, Krasnovodsk, Geok-Tek, Ashabad, Merv, Bokhara, Samarcand, Odessa.
