CHESTERFIELD. An excellent silver plated 29mm livery button with the crest of the Earl of Chesterfield. The handsome button. by C. F. BULLIVANT, BIRMINGHAM , shows the crest of a demi lion issuing fa tower, all beneath an earl’s coronet. The widow of the 10th and last Earl, Edwyn Scudamore-Stanhope [d.1917] lived on at Beningborough Hall, North Yorkshire until her death in 1857 when it became a National Trust property. The hall had been a wedding gift to them by her father, Lord Nunburnholme.   sep18/1
