A single 8 x 5 inch sheet of the Maharaja’s writing paper embossed with elaborate coloured monogram beneath a crown being a reply to R Musgrove who had written requesting a signature. It is dated 2nd of July 1902 75 Lancaster Gate, London W and probably written in the Mahraja’s own hand, signed Cooch Behar. Interestingly this was written when the ruler was staying in London for the Coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra.      apr19/6

Lieutenant Colonel H H Siur Nripendra Narayan Bhup BahadurBhup Bahadur, G.C.I.E. was born in 1862, succeeding his father the following year. The north eastern state’s ruler had a 13 gun salute.
