DELHI DURBAR 1903. A miniature medal with a length of old ribbon

A very fine example of the miniature silver medal of the 1903 Delhi Durbar celebrating the coronation of King Emperor Edward VII.  There is just a little marking to the field of the obverse. This comes with a length of contemporary ribbon although the medal has been cleaned [not by us]. The medal has the crowned bust of Edward VII on the obverse with the additional DELHI DARBAR to the right, using the old spelling of Durbar . The reverse has an inscription in Farsi. This medal has become quite difficult to find and it is worth noting that some 2,500 full size 1903 medals were struck whereas there were 30,000 of the 1911. Not everyone awarded these medals would have bought  miniatures. mar4/6   SOLD 5th August 2022
