Delhi 1911. An original two part photographic panorama of the scene in the amphitheatre with the King and Queen in the central shamiana. The visible measurement is 23 x 9½ ins and the panorama is mounted on old card and still within a window mount, ideal for framing again, overall size 28 x 15 ins. It is titled on the mount CORONATION DURBAR DELHI DEC. 1911. This is not one of the fold out panoramas taken from a book of the period and we are not entirely sure of the precise day the image was taken. It gives a splendid impression of the vast number of troops involved and is taken from stand Z which has a lot of Indian Army Officers towards the front. The photographs are in excellent condition although, as often is the case, the two do not meet with total precision.    jul25/2   SOLD 28th July 2022
