Delhi Durbar 1911, the Royal Pages
£12.00
The unused photographic postcard shows 10 young members of princely families who served as pages to T.M. the King Emperor & Queen Empress at the Durbar. They include two ruling princes, H. H. the Maharaja of Jodhpur and H. H. the Maharaja of Bharatpur, others being from Bikaner, Idar, Orchha. Faridkot, Palitana, Sailana, Bhopal, and Rewa. Understandably their charm captivated many of the onlookers. The original photograph was by Ernest Brooks who was personal photographer to King George V and had unrivalled access. The card was published by J Beagles & Co Ltd, London E. C. dec24/4
