Early Victorian silver salt spoon with parcel gilt bowl, 1839

£10.00

The 4¼ ins fiddle pattern silver spoon is hallmarked London 1839 but has no maker’s mark. The inside of the bowl retains the originally gilding put in place to prevent corrosion when in contact with the salt. There is a small dint to the bowl, only visible from the back of the bowl.       nov11/1

NB  The photograph of the front of the spoon fails to show the gold of the bold but it is very clearly there.
