An unsophisticated but very revealing view of military life in India between the wars as seen by an intelligent and observant NCO, this book deals with local people, his pals, some sightseeing, a great proclamation parade before the Governor of the Punjab, a train crash on the Kalka-Simla Railway, and much else.
