Engineer officers at Kirkee, 1880s

£25.00

A 7½ x 6 ins rather faded portrait taken at Kirkee of seven Royal Engineer officers – identified on the old paper sheet, although damage along the top of the paper makes the more junior officers difficult to decipher. The central figure is Major Barré John Goldie, late of the Bengal Engineers, who was commissioned in 1858, becoming a major in 1881. Beneath this image is a another showing a group with Col Caaldecott and Capt Baddeley, who also appears in the Engineer group.  oct14/3
