General Sir Peter Stark Lumsden, G.C.B., C.S.I. A carte de visite

The carte de visite by G. W. Wilson, Aberdeen shows a half length portrait of Lumsden seated, wearing civilian dress. It probably dates from around `1870 when he was Quarter master General of Indian Army. There is some discolouration down the right edge of the cdv and along part of the lower margin. We acquired this image in a large archive of material descended in the family from Sir Peter, who died without issue. Details of his illustrious military career in India, Afghanistan, and China will be found in other areas of the website.apr6/2 SOLD 18th March 2023
