General officer’s open backed, large gilt 24mm

A 19th century general officer’s 24mm gilt button, the open back with mark FIRMIN & Co. LONDON. The button, which retains full original gilt finish, has the long standing standard design of crossed sword and baton. This was used for all ranks of general and the sword was replaced by another baton for the rank of field marshal [see elsewhere in this category for a rare example of that pattern].     dec3/4  SOLD 27th February 2023
