H R H Edward, Prince of Wales, Colonel in Chief, Royal Scots Fusiliers

£65.00

A good photograph probably dating from shortly after the Prince became the first Colonel in Chief of the Royal Scots Fusiliers. He is shown in service dress uniform wearing tartyan jodhpurs of the regimental pattern. The photogrpah was taken at bardon Camp in Aldershot.  The photograph, 6½ x 4 ins is pasted to part of an old album leaf. There is a small crease at the lower left corner. The Prince [later King Edward VIII] was the first colonel in chief of the regiment, whose successor regiment is the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Regiment of Scotland. Its present colonel in chief is H RH the Duke of York. It is possibly a press photograph but we are not sure of the photographer.
