£30.00

Two small snapshots, 4¼ x 3¼ ins, taken on 8th Dcember 1905 during the Royal Tour of T.R.H. The Prince and Princess of Wales. One, identified on the back in contemporary ink as Prince & Kitchener shows the Prince and the Commander in Chief riding side by side on the occasion of the grand military parade organised by Lord Kitchener at Rawalpindi [now  in Pakistan] as the royal party was on its way to Karachi where it would embark for England. The other, slightly smaller, image which came with the first shows two Indian lancers, in service dress, on horseback. On this occasion the Prince was escorted by Skinner’s Horse and Maj Gen Sir Douglas Haig was present as Inspector General of Cavalry.       jul29/2
