A very thorough and solid history with a large amount on service in the southern part of India (the first 13 of 17 chapters), chapter 14 deals with service as marines in Burma, the capture of Aden, etc., chapter 15 is devoted to Mooltan, 16 to Goojerat, and 17 covers the last fifty years after the transfer of power from the East India Company to the Crown.
