Indian Mutiny. An account of the Siege of Delhi with very good detail, 1861
[Ireland, William Wetherspoon]: History of the Siege of Delhi by an Officer who served there. Adam & Charles Black [Edinburgh] 1861 1st edition 8vo.
Folding Map of Delhi and the British Camp to illustrate the Military Operations during the Siege, xii, 331pp. Contemporary or slightly later half leather gilt with marbled paper covered boards, some marks to the marbling but very sound, occasional foxing, no previous ownership marks, the title to spine spells siege wrongly and attributes the anonymous work to Rotton who was chaplain and did write a book on the siege but this is not that book. A very useful book which is now difficult to find in original form. It gives a very detailed account to which is added a return of those killed and wounded with the names of officers, a good account of the Trial of the King of Delhi, and a Hindustani vocabulary.
