Original green cloth gilt with  binding sound, library shelf numbers to spine, rear board blind stamped Liverpool Free Public Library, text block sound and, library label to rear pastedown and WITHDRAWN stamp to verso of map. The main text block is entirely narrative and deals with all aspects of the City and area with a substantial history section with 18 pages about the Indian Mutiny, Siege etc. There may have been a larger map before the title page but we are not sure. These gazetteers – forming a series introduced by Lord Curzon – are not easy to find in anything like decent condition although some have been reprinted in recent years. may16/1
