Irish Volunteer button, late 18th century. Kinvarra Infantry, 25mm gilt
£130.00
KINVARRA INFANTRY. A large gilt officer’s 25mm button of flat construction with the impressed backmark I. LLOYD DUBLIN. The i of the naming could equally well be J as the printing styles of the period often used the letter with either meaning. The design of the button has the title on a garter within a seven pointed start. A scarce Irish volunteer button of the George III period and one which we have not come across before. jun10/2
