A Pictorial Souvenir and History of the First Battalion The King’s Shropshire Light Infantry, Poona, India, 1925. British Historical Art Publishing Co. oblong folio, [15½ x 11½ ins].

ii, 27pp historical text, 20 strong card leaves each with photographs to the facing side only with either one original photograph around 11 x 8 ins or two of 8 x 5½ ins. Original green cloth with front board gilt blocked with regimental badge, spine cloth missing and front free endpaper is pulled away from the main block, wear to the corners, a little light fading to a few of the photographs. A very heavy book / album which is really too heavy, even for this stout binding.  Unlike many similar regimental souvenir books this example does not show lots of sports’ teams but concentrates on the strictly military with group portraits down to platoon level. Individual photos do not include names of those pictured, At this time the battalion was commanded by Lt. Col. J.C. Hooper, D.S.O. aug5/1
