Madras. A greetings card from the Governor’s Staff to Sir Charles and Lady Todhunter

The greetings card, 6¾ x 4¾ ins, is of cream card with the arms of Madras embossed in gold, opening to reveal a tipped in photograph of a hunt, addressed on the other side to Sir Charles & Lady Todhunter from H.E. the Governor’s StaffIt probably dates from around 1923 to 1925. Sir Charles Todhunter, K.C.S.I. held numerous important posts in the Madras civil service and was very briefly acting Governor in April 1924 between the governorships of Lord Willingdon and Viscount Goschen.
