The photographs show a long line of the Maharaja of Patiala’s body guard drawn up in the Patiala Camp at the the 1903 Coronation Durbar. They each carry a spear. The senior Sikh ruler, H.H. Sir Bupinder Singh,  always put on a fine show on ceremonial occasions.   nov7/3
