Major James Shaw, Cameronians, and Frank Phillips, Chief Commissioner of Central Provinces

A piece of old album card with two photographs of Major James Shaw, one on horseback wearing service dress dated 1916, the other, earlier, wearing dress uniform which seems from the buttons to be the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles), wearing an India  General Service medal. On the reverse of the card is a portrait of Francis Angelo Theodore Phillips of the ICS who became Chief Commissioner of the Central Provinces in 1909. The photographs are around 6 x 4½ ins in size.     sep4/2
