MINTO. A private Christmas card signed by the Viceroy & Vicereine, 1907

An attractive and rather unusual little card printed by Marion & Co, London but the tipped in coloured photograph of a Madras scene is by Nicholas & Co, Madras. The unopened size of the card is 4½ x 3½ ins and it is signed beneath the printed greeting Mary Minto and Minto 1907.

Gilbert John Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 4th Earl of Minto [1845-1914] succeeded Lord Curzon as Viceroy in 1905 and returned to Britain in 1910.  may12/2  SOLD 17th September 2020
