North West Frontier, a 1922 account with a large coloured map.

Large folding coloured map of NWF Province in rear pocket [dated 1910], two maps lacking from front pocket, 8 photo plates [correct as list and including one folding 2 part plate with two views of of the Khyber], 78pp. The large Survey of India map has a few small holes at fold intersections but is sound. Original rather amateurish black cloth titled to front board, brick red endpapers and pockets. Contemporary ownership name to top margin of title page A. G. Evans, India 1922. The contents are clean but the text block is split between the illustrations list and chapter 1.The photographic plates [by Holmes] retain tissue guards. Copies we have seen offered recently seem to think 1930 editions were the first and seem unaware of the large map.
