Officer’s home pattern helmet of the Royal Artillery, post 1901

An honest example of the blue cloth helmet of the pre 1914 era. This example has the maker’s stamp of William Stone, 20 Old Compton Street, London. It lacks the silk inner but retains the leather sweat band. The chinscales are also lacking but the rose pattern fixings remain. The tin on which the helmet is shown is not with this helmet but is merely being used for display. SOLD 27th February 2023
