Royal Artillery patent leather back pouch

Patent leather pouch, approximately 5 x 3 ins overall, with brass fittings for a shoulder belt. The pouch, whose precise purpose we do not know, is mounted on the cover with the field gun device [nuts for the fixing are not present]. The flat fastens with a strap and brass stud, the pouch is lined with black cloth. The look is late Victorian but the field gun badge changed little over the decades. jun6/1
