Royal Fusiliers, an early 19th century regimental medal

£90.00

The medal, of silver coloured metal, is in the form of an eight pointed star [50mm in diameter] with the regimental title around the Tudor rose with central lettering TAS. A great variety of regimental medals were produced around the period of Waterloo and the lettering on this one may refer to the Army Temperance movement which was strong in the first half of the 19th century, particularly among troops serving overseas.
