Volume I From 1652 to 1860: 5 coloured plates, 12 other plates [some with several portraits], 20 folding maps [including battles of Masulipatam, Buxar, Sholinghur, Dieg, Bhurtpore, Ghuznee, Chillianwalla, Delhi 1857, Lucknow 1858], [x], 254pp, Volume II From 1861 to 1922(Disbandment): 3 coloured plates, 36 other plates [some with several portraits], 21 folding maps and sketches, viii, [i], 305pp. Original blue cloth gilt with regimental badge in gilt to the upper heavily bevelled board, excellent bright condition, a little splitting to the paper of the hinge in volume one. All illustrations and maps carefully checked and correct as the contents lists. There are no previous ownership markings, a very clean set. The first volume deals with the period when the regiment was the Bengal European Regiment  and later the 1st Bengal European Fusiliers. The second volume relates events after the regiment joined the British line after the end of the Mutiny. Perkins 385 notes there are good accounts of the Second Punjab War (1848-1849), Burma (1852) and the Mutiny.  may17/1
