A large size officer’s button of the Scots Guards, 25mm, with the incuse design of the Order of the Thistle which was worn from 1800. The open backed button has he backmark CHARLES JENNENS LONDON with the design in frosted gilt apart from the motto and the background to the thistle. A very fine example of this early flat button. sep11/5
