Sir Henry Mortimer Durand, G.C.M.G., K.C.S.I.E., K.C.I.E.. [1850-1924]. A carte de visite by Bourne & Shepherd, India showing a bust length portrait in an oval of the Civil Servant at around the time when he was Political Secretary to the British Mission in Kabul. He had joined the Bengal service in 1873 and was Political Secretary to Sir Frederick Roberts before serving as Foreign Secretary in India 1884-94, after which he was Minister at Teheran. There is a mark across the top part of the card, not affecting the portrait.    jun6/1 SOLD 18th March 2023
