Origin4l dark blue cloth gilt, the front board gilt blocked with the arms of Aberdeen, some stains and marks to boards but sound, a decent copy with clean contents and with no previous ownership marks . Following a Kalendar with farming and gardening notes is a mine of local and national information including: market days, Post Office with rates inland and overseas; mail and stage coaches from Aberdeen; carriers; THe British Empire [royal family, privy council, peerage, government]; Royal Navy [list of officers down to the rank of Captain, ships with their stations]; the army [all commissioned officers by regiment]; Scottish population; Scottish Peerage; Ecclesiaastical Establishments; legal officers; societies; City and County of Aberdeen – magisrates, police, clerics, banks, justices, clubs, etc. There are briefer details of counicls, sheriff courts, etc for places such as Kintore, Inverury, Turriff, Huntly, Peterhead, Fraserburgh, Tarland, Insch, Also some details (deputy lieutenants, lists of freeholders, etc ] for counties of Banff, and Elgin & Moray, The book includes lists of Royal Navy officers down to the rank of captain, list of ships in commission with their commanders and stations, Army List of officers by regiment. oct10/1
