A very good example of an officer’s 25mm gilt button of the 102nd (Royal Madras Fusiliers) which has the backmark JENNENS & Co. LONDON and is the pattern worn from 1861 when the regiment joined the British infantry line. After 1881 it became the 1st Bn. The Royal Dublin Fusiliers until it was disbanded with other Irish regiments in 1922. may30/2
